Why He’s Such A Great Father: My dad is a coach, a teacher and a father. He can take a student (child or adult) and develop their mind and body to preform at an optimal level. By pushing you so far mentally that you are already past what you may have thought what was your physical limit.
My dad is a lion. Growing up in the dangerous north end of Detroit, Michigan you weren’t expected to live past age 16. Fearless of every obstacle the streets of Detroit contained, my dad kept his priorities and morals close as he got out of Detroit and got a college education. My dad is very active in our community. Eden Prairie is the fifth best place to raise a family. My dad decided to move to Eden Prairie three years after I was born to be in a safer community and to get a better education He is the treasurer for our community in the No. 1 city in America and the fifth best city to raise a family. Dad helps to establish our direction through our Sunday family strategic meetings.
Community Service Affiliations: VP of Round Lake Homeowners Association (RLHOA), head coach and assistant for Eden Prairie Football Association, coach for Hospitality House Striders Track and Field Club
How He Helps Others in His Community: My dad has always been an active participant in multiple communities with an effort to make a positive difference. He participates in the school system as a volunteer, educational focus committees, football coach, track coach in Eden Prairie and Minneapolis. He also has tele-coached his favorite 800 runner in Texas. In addition, he is the VP of our homeowners association and has been voted on the board for over six years. His impact has been so popular that every time we are out about town, he is known as “coach.” One parent once told my dad that, “our son is now speaking up at the dinner table and becoming a vocal part of our family now–thank you for building his confidence.” We also have seven All-American medals in track & field under his direction as a coach. He reminds us that, “service is the rent you pay for the space you occupy” – Dr. MLK.
