Six White House staffers were dismissed from their jobs Thursday after failing to pass FBI background checks.
According to Western Journalism, the staffers were escorted from the White House Wednesday for problems with their SF86 applications.
The “Questionnaire for National Security Positions” is a 127-page standard form that is required for most federal government civilian, military and contractor positions. It includes questions about the applicant’s credit score, medical records, employment history, family history, substance use and other personal subjects.
One of the staffers dismissed was Caroline Wiles. The director of scheduling is the daughter of President Trump’s Florida campaign manager.
Wiles, who resigned Friday before the background check was completed, was appointed deputy assistant secretary before the inauguration in January. Politico reports that she will instead work at the Treasury Department.
The White House has yet to comment on the dismissals.
