Texas Cop on Leave After Pulling Gun on Teens

A Texas police officer is on administrative leave after cell phone video surfaced of him pulling a gun on teens at a pool party.

Officers were responding to a disturbance on Friday at a community pool in McKinney, Texas. Police say they were met by “multiple juveniles” refusing to leave.

The footage shows the officer, whose name has not yet been released, throwing a teenage girl on the ground and pulling a gun on a crowd of teen onlookers, some of who attempted to come to her aid.

“It’s something we’re going to have to look into to determine what we’re training as far as the actions of the officers on the scene, said McKinney Police Chief, Greg Conley. “Anytime you get around a lot of people it’s a very dynamic situation,” Conley continued.

On its Facebook page, the McKinney Police Department posted the following statement:

“Pool Party Incident:

On June 5, 2015 at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers from the McKinney Police Department responded to a disturbance at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool. The initial call came in as a disturbance involving multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave. McKinney Police received several additional calls related to this incident advising that juveniles were now actively fighting.

First responding officers encountered a large crowd that refused to comply with police commands. Nine additional units responded to the scene. Officers were eventually able to gain control of the situation.

McKinney Police later learned of a video that was taken at the scene by an unknown party. This video has raised concerns that are being investigated by the McKinney Police Department. At this time, one of the responding officers has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this investigation.”

Police say one arrest was made and they are not aware of any injuries.

Fifteen-year-old Dajerria Becton was the girl assaulted in the video by the officer. She says that she was an invited guest, and was not involved in the alleged fight that broke out.

“He grabbed me, twisted my arm on my back and shoved me in the grass and started pulling the back of my braids,” Becton told Fox4News. “I was telling him to get off me because my back was hurting bad.”

After watching the video, one can only conclude that the officer needs to be fired. Was he in an action movie? Sure seems like it!

Why he felt the need to act with such aggression is beyond me.
