Over the weekend, Dwight Howard was presented with an opportunity he just couldn’t refuse. The Lakers player has agreed to sign an $88 million contract with the Houston Rockets, one that will also allow him to operate as a free agent after playing only three seasons, according to ESPN. Howard can’t sign the contract until Wednesday, which is when the league’s moratorium wraps up.
Rapper and filmmaker Ice Cube was quick to share his displeasure with Howard’s decision. During the Kings of the Mic Tour in L.A. the entertainer expressed his anger between performances by saying L.A. doesn’t care about “Dwight Coward,” and how the city doesn’t need him anyway.
As always, the Twitter world has reacted. Here are some pro and con-Houston sentiments:
Congrats to @DwightHoward on your new team. Kill it bro. Oh how my Laker hater powers are working

Why would @DwightHoward want to play next to an aging team with a bad coach? Houston is simply better poised to make a championship run.
