But that didn’t stop a giant whooshing sound from emerging as the point flew above the heads of Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski Wednesday morning
Throwing context out of the window, Brzezinski found the real racist in the story of University of Oklahoma’s now defunct chapter Sigma Alpha Epsilon frat chanting about lynching “ni****s.” It’s rapper Waka Flocka and his use the N-word in his songs leading innocent white men astray. She called out Flocka for canceling a rap concert at OU over the racist chant, claiming he should take some responsibility.

“If you look at every single song, I guess you call these, that he’s written, it’s a bunch of garbage,” Brzezinski said. “It’s full of n-words, it’s full of f-words. It’s wrong. And he shouldn’t be disgusted with them, he should be disgusted with himself.”
“The kids that are buying hip hop or gangster rap, it’s a white audience, and they hear this over and over again,” Joe Scarborough said. “So do they hear this at home? Well, chances are good, no, they heard a lot of this from guys like this who are now acting shocked.”
Wait? Waka Flocka raps about lynching people? And gangsta rap teaches white boys that N-words shouldn’t join their Antebellum South era fraternities? Um … what! Context people! Context matters! Willie Geist, who was on the panel, tried to bring the “context” to this debate pointing out there’s a difference between advocating lynching and Flocka using the N-word as a NSFW stand-in for “dude” in his songs.
“There is a distinction between a bunch of white kids chanting about hanging someone from a tree, using that term,” Geist said, “and Waka Flocka Flame using it.”
But do you think Mike and Joe got that? Hahahaha, no.
