Ex-Cowboy Josh Brent Gets 180 Days in Jail, Probation
Former Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent was sentenced Friday to 180 days in jail and 10 years of probation for a drunken car crash that killed his friend and teammate, Jerry Brown. Brent was convicted Wednesday of intoxication manslaughter for the December 2012 crash on a suburban Dallas highway that killed Brown, who was a passenger in Brent’s car. Brent could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
Arrests Made in Credit Card Breach
Two people were arrested with 96 fake accounts at the Texas border. Instead of relishing in the glow of post-Christmas happiness, many Americans were devastated by the massive credit card breach that hit big box retailer Target and luxury retailer Neiman Marcus.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the father of Mary J. Blige. The R&B singer’s father is in critical condition after an ex-girlfriend allegedly stabbed him in the neck Thursday morning, according to USA Today.

AP Accuses Zimmerman of Stealing Photo
The Associated Press isn’t happy about George Zimmerman’s paintings (and, for the record, neither are we). In case you missed it, the former neighborhood watch volunteer has been selling “original” artwork on eBay. Except, one painting doesn’t appear to be so original after all, because AP alleges the painting is a copy of an AP photo. In the image, Florida prosecutor is seen pressing her thumb and forefinger together. Zimmerman reportedly added this made-up quote: “I have this much respect for the American judicial system.” SMH.
