Obama Apologizes for Healthcare Fail
Bowing to intense criticism, President Barack Obama apologized to Americans who are losing health insurance plans he repeatedly said they could keep and pledged to find fixes that might allow people to keep their coverage. “I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me,” he said in an interview Thursday with NBC News. The president’s apology comes as the White House tries to combat a cascade of troubles surrounding the rollout of the health care law, often referred to as “Obamacare.”
Jonathan Martin Alleges Harassment
Jonathan Martin’s new attorney says harassment of the Miami Dolphins tackle came from more than one teammate. The abuse went far beyond the traditional locker room hazing, including a malicious physical attack and daily vulgar comments, attorney David Cornwell said Thursday. He was hired this week to represent Martin, who left the Dolphins last week.
Jay Z Sued for “Run This Town” Sample
Mr. Carter is in some hot water with a New York-based record label, TufAmerica Inc., after the company filed a lawsuit against him. The company is claiming that the rapper used “Hook & Sling Part 1,” a 1969 track by Eddie Bo, for his 2010 single that features Rihanna and Kanye West without permission. The label also sued Yeezy in 2012 for two tracks from his “My Dark Twisted Fantasy” albums.
Chris Brown Countersues Man Who Accused Him of Assault
Remember the scuffle Breezy and Frank Ocean’s entourage got into earlier this year? Well, one of the men involved filed an assault lawsuit against the “Fine China” singer in August, and Breezy has now decided to follow suit with a counterclaim. Brown is accusing Sha’keir Duarte of instigating the fight by pushing, kicking and punching and threatening to kill him.
Gogo Unveils In-Flight Text Service
The in-flight internet service has created an app that allows fliers to make calls and text at 30,000 feet high. The new feature is expected to launch on commercial flights during the first quarter of next year. No prices have been set yet.
