The 12 Years a Slave star could be landing his next big gig soon. The actor was seen leaving the office of J. J. Abrams, the filmmaker of Star Wars: Episode VII. When asked about the whispers, he refused to comment on whether or not Ejiofor had a role. He did say he was “a very talented gentleman.”

Flames broke out in the songwriter’s bathroom this weekend. The singer’s sprinkler system put out the blazer before firemen arrived. No major damage was caused, and there’s no word on what caused the flames.
Hall of Fame center Walt Bellamy Dies at 74
NBA Hall of Fame player, Walt Bellamy, died Saturday at age 74. The Atlanta Hawks confirmed his death after he had attended the team’s home opener Friday night. Bellamy was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993 after averaging 20.1 points and 13.7 rebounds in 14 seasons.
Oprah Raises $600,000 for Charity with Yard Sale
Mama O might have had the most successful garage sale ever! Raising $600,000 worth of furniture, art and antiques, Winfrey raised the money her school for girls in South Africa. The biggest sale of the day was a set of six 18th-century Louis XVI armchairs with hand-embroidered details, which sold for $60,000.
Hov is adding yet another business venture to his list. This time it’s men’s fragrance. The entertainment mogul is launching “GOLD JAY Z,” which will debut at Barneys New York on November 29 as a part of his collaboration with the store. Just in time for the holidays, the product will be available at 2,000 other department stores in Black Friday.

Eddie Murphy is back at it. No, the comedian isn’t returning to the big (or small) screen just yet, but he’s been busy cranking out music, including his new song “Promise (You Won’t Break My Heart).” The track is the latest off of his upcoming album titled 9, which will hit stores in spring 2014.
Florida Man Convicted in Killing of Sean Taylor
A 23-year-old man was convicted of second-degree murder Monday in the 2007 slaying of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor during what witnesses say was a botched burglary. The jury deliberated about 16 hours over four days before returning the verdict in the trial of Eric Rivera Jr., who admitted in a videotaped confession to police days after Taylor’s death that he fired the fatal shot after kicking in the bedroom door. At the trial, he said on the witness stand that his confession was given only under police pressure and amid purported threats to his family.
