During an hour-long speech at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois on Wednesday, President Barack Obama said Washington has “taken its off the ball” and he vowed to make the economy his “highest priority” during his second term. His address, however, did not include new policy proposals or solutions.
The International Boxing Hall of Fame reported that former boxing world champion Emile Griffith died on Tuesday night at the Nassau Extended Care Facility in Hempstead, New York. He was 75. Griffith, who won five titles in his career, received full-time care at the center due to complications from pugilistic dementia.
Whitney Houston’s gravesite has been marked with a teardrop-shaped headstone that appropriately reads “I will always love you,” the song she made famous more than 20 years ago. The tomb also includes a heart-shaped engraving which encases the late pop singer’s name and the words “THE VOICE.” Houston is buried next to her father in Westfield, NJ.
Two charges against Chris Brown were dropped on Tuesday, but he’s still being blamed for a hit and run in last May’s minor traffic crash, CNN says. His lawyer entered a not guilty plea for Brown and the judge ordered the R&B singer to show up at the sheriff’s station in a week to be booked for the charge. This is bad news for the performer because it caused a judge to revoke his probation in connection with the beating of Rihanna. He’s free until the trial. Let’s hope he can stay out of trouble until then.
In this legal edition of “he says, she says,” the creator of a Facebook page for “The Game” is suing BET. Stacey Mattocks created a Facebook page for the show about football players when it debuted on The CW back in 2008. But when BET revived the show a few years later, Mattocks claimed the network attempted to capitalize on the Facebook page and her efforts. It gets even more complicated from there.
After learning the rapper was a huge fan of the Starz original series “Magic City,” the writers of the show created a role just for Mr. Rozay. He plays a drug boss in the upcoming episode. Watch a clip here and tune in when the episode premieres Friday, July 26 at 9 p.m. EST.

Jordan plus the film’s director, Ryan Coogler, may be re-teaming for a project involving “Rocky” scene-stealing character Apollo Creed.
