Music’s royal child has arrived on the scene.
In the new issue of Harpers Bazaar, Paris Jackson, the late King of Pop Michael’s Jackson’s eldest daughter, makes her first public debut and people can’t get over how much she clearly resembles her mother. Throughout the years, she has been like a ghost of the media with her family’s celebrity power, yet the public knew nothing about her until now. With a very active social media page of 2M fans and counting, she’s making her own way as life after her father’s iconic passing fades.
Opening up for the first time to the media, 18-year – old Paris Jackson remarks on the fondest memories of her family, reflects on the difficult time during her father’s death and shares her life as a rising actress based in New York and Los Angeles.
Here are 4 things we learned from the Paris interview.
She’s Obsessed With The 80s
As she roars down the drive, Paris reveals that she gets her style inspiration from Stevie Nicks and Janis Joplin. “I’m obsessed,” she says. “And it’s an unhealthy obsession because there’s never been anyone like them and there never will be. They’re legendary and incredible.”
Then she plays Fleetwood Mac. As we slide into Nowheresville, she begins to relax, singing along to the Rolling Stones and Simon & Garfunkel. She too writes music. “It’s folky,” she says. “I’d love to write rock music because that’s what I dig. But I’m good at sad stuff and acoustic stuff.”
She gets annoyed when people talk about her father.
“All anyone wants to talk about is my father, and it makes me sad,” she says mournfully, in a voice so quiet it’s almost a whisper.
She’s just like me and you; she loves Esty.com!
The steering wheel is wrapped in a pink flowered cover that I immediately covet. “Etsy,” she says helpfully. “I get everything from Etsy.”
She doesn’t care about the haters.
Who gives a fuck?” she asks. “You’re on their mind—how is that a bad thing? Doesn’t matter if they’re saying good or bad things about you. They’re thinking about you enough to write about you. You just can’t care.”
