Apparently, sipping on an Arizona Iced Tea can get you arrested. Christopher Beatty is the North Carolina man who found out the hard way. An amateur video that was posted on Youtube on April 29 went viral, showing Beatty’s arrest in the parking lot of a Fayetteville Liquor Store.
Beatty and his friend Tino Brown were approached by a plain clothes police officer. Beatty is asked by the officer, later identified as a Cumberland County Alcoholic Law Enforcement officer, if his tea contains alcohol. Beatty tells the officer repeatedly that his tea contains no alcohol and refuses to give him the can. The officer then asks Beatty to leave the property immediately. When Beatty refuses to leave, the officer pushes Beatty against the car and asks him to put his hands behind his back. When Beatty resists being handcuffed, the officer tackles him to the ground and handcuffs him.
Beatty was given a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 6, WBWT-TV says.
