New Orleans police are still searching for two suspected gunmen who opened fire early Sunday morning on the city’s tourist-heavy Bourbon Street, killing a 25-year-old man and wounding nine others.
“We don’t believe any of the victims who were shot were the intended targets,” New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Michael Harrison said at a press conference. Police arrested two men at the scene Sunday on charges of illegal carrying of a firearm, neither of those men are suspects in the shooting, the NOPD said.

Demontris Toliver, a 25-year-old Baton Rouge, Louisiana tattoo artist in town to celebrate his birthday, was identified as the man slain, the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Police arrested two men at the scene Sunday on charges of illegal carrying of a firearm, neither of those men are suspects in the shooting, the NOPD said. However police say they are focusing their investigation.
“We have been able to obtain what we believe to be strong information on who these suspects may be and we’re pursuing every lead at this moment,” NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison said.
Two of the shooting victims told relatives they saw two men arguing with each other moments before the gunfire erupted early Sunday.
Four victims remain hospitalized and five others have been released, police said. “At this time, those who remain in the hospital are expected to make a full recovery from their injuries,” Harrison said Sunday afternoon.
