Miriam “Mae Mae” Burbank’s Funeral Goes Viral

Who says funerals have to be boring?

Miriam Burbank, known as “Mae Mae,” apparently knew how to have a good time.

According to the New York Daily News, the New Orleans woman was “was so full of life that her two daughters wanted her to depart this world the way she lived in it, sitting in a living room setting with cigarette and beers while a disco ball flashes across her glossy lips and sunglasses.”

Well, alrighty then.

This reminds me of the TLC special a while back called Best Funeral Ever, where Southern funeral directors made it their mission to well, give people the “best funeral ever.” One of the episodes included a funeral at a theme park. Yes, you read correctly.

And you know what? I’m not here to judge. Funerals are supposed to be a celebration of the person’s life, right? So, if that’s what your loved one truly wanted, then so be it.
