The man accused of slapping a toddler while on a flight to Atlanta has pleaded guilty to simple assault, according to the Associated Press.
Joe Rickey Hundley entered his plea during a hearing Wednesday afternoon. Back in February, the 60-year-old allegedly hit a 19-month-old boy under his right eye after using a racial slur as the plane from Minneapolis descended in Atlanta.
After the hearing, prosecutors requested a six-month sentence for the Idaho man who currently lives in North Carolina. Hundley is expected to be sentenced in January.
