Kevin Durant Pledges $1M To Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant has pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross to help victims of the category five tornado that plowed through a Oklahoma city suburb.

The current toll of human life remains at 24, according to the Chicago Tribune. Of that number, 10 were children. Most of the victims died from blunt force injuries. The number of injured has risen up to more than 240. More than 2,4000 homes were damaged or entirely demolished, leaving as many as 10,000 people dislocated after the storm.

The American Red Cross announced today that the gift from The Durant Family will be used to match other donations.

If you would like to help the cause, the Red Cross is accepting $10 pledges from people who text “REDCROSS” to 90999 or on their website.
