You’ve got to admit, hate him or love him, LeBron James deserved to take home the NBA Championship ring for the Cleveland Cavaliers, bringing a crown back to the city after more than 50 years. He led his team from a 3-1 deficit to a game 7 win and became the series unanimous MVP.
His impressive 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in Sunday night’s game made him one of three players to have a triple-double in game 7 (Jerry West in 1969 and James Worthy in 1988 were the others). This is probably enough to make Cleveland fans forgive him for “The Decision.”
So maybe he got emotional and fell to the floor in tears as the game ended — despite already having two rings from wins in Miami — but give him his moment.
As a matter of fact, here’s his moment in a post game press conference.
But there’s also Kyrie Irving, without whom the Cavs clearly would not have won the championship. And the frank, profound things he had to say.
And, well there wasn’t much talk about this guy, but there was when the NBA Championships began. But he’s the face of Golden State, so just like everyone else who ever slipped at clutch moments, Steph Curry has to speak to the press as well.
Also, if you are one of the six people in the entire universe that missed the game. Here are the highlights.
