Congratulations to Rashema Melson!
The 18-year-old D.C. teen recently received a full scholarship to Georgetown University. According to FOX DC, the Anacostia High School senior has been living with her mother and two siblings at a homeless shelter for the past two years.
“It’s pushing me to be better, to know what I want in life, and to know this is not what I want, but I have to go through it for the moment,” she told the news station.
Melson plans to study biology and become forensic pathologist. We wish her all the best!
