Who says Black girls can’t code?
With any luck, Google’s $190,000 donation to the Black Girls Code initiative will certainly help.
According to NY Daily News, the search engine giant is expected to announce a major donation to the proposal, which aims to teach adolescent Black and Latina girls how to build a mobile app in one day.
The six-hour bilingual session will take place Saturday at Google’s offices in Chelsea, New York and include 75 girls.
The partnership comes months after Google disclosed its diversity data, in which the company revealed its staff is 61 percent White and 70 percent male.
