All eyes will be on the witness stand on Friday as the prosecution draws to an end in George Zimmerman’s murder trial. This, after the state has worked all week putting forth evidence to chip away at the neighborhood watch volunteer’s claim he was acting in self-defense when he fatally shot 17-year-old Martin.
It remains to be seen whether either of Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton or Tracy Martin, will be called to testify about a voice heard in the backdrop on 911 recordings of the encounter between Martin and Zimmerman. Fulton has said in prior interviews that the person who can be heard screaming is her son. The identification of the vocalization is key because it could sway the jury’s opinion about who was the aggressor in the confrontation.
Earlier in the week, an FBI expert contended that a person familiar with a voice would be best equipped to identify it.
