People speculated that George Zimmerman’s life would never be the same after the trial and so far, it seems like they were correct.
Since the controversial not guilty verdict earlier this month, the volunteer neighborhood watchman has been in hiding until recently. Sanford police say Zimmerman emerged from hiding to rescue a person trapped in an overturned truck.
He “pulled an individual from a truck that had rolled over” at the intersection of a Florida highway last week, Sanford Police Department Capt. Jim McAuliffe told ABC News.
It looks like he wants to become a hero and he’s trying desperately to redeem himself.
Just like there are supporters for the teen who was murdered, Zimmerman also has a team of supporters, especially via Twitter.
Best-selling conservative author Brad Thor recently offered to purchase a gun for Zimmerman, ammunition included. Thor presented his offer through Twitter after he learned the Department of Justice has delayed returning Zimmerman’s gun since the acquittal.
“Read this carefully, as I don’t want 2 be misunderstood: SCREW the #DOJ. If they won’t give #Zimmerman his gun back, I’ll buy him a new one,” he tweeted.
This tweet received much support as followers offered to help pay.
Over the weekend, 100 cities organized protests demanding that the Department of Justice investigate the night Zimmerman fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. They want to prove that Martin’s civil rights were violated when he was walking home from a corner store and then followed and eventually approached by Zimmerman.
