Updated 9/13/13 at 12 p.m. CST: The punches just keep coming for George Zimmerman. The police chief for the Florida town where the former neighborhood watch volunteer resides agrees that he is a “ticking time bomb” and another “Sandy Hook” waiting to happen. Wow.
Police Chief Steve Bracknell has sense tried to distance himself from the comments, which he sent in a response to Santiago Rodriguez, who was upset about Zimmerman’s release earlier this week. You can read Bracknell’s remarks here. As of Friday morning, Zimmerman had not been charged following the domestic dispute.
George Zimmerman is officially having the worst summer ever. Just one day after he allegedly threatened his estranged wife with a gun, his lawyer, Mark O’Mara, chucks the deuces and quits. An iPad video could also play an instrumental role in the domestic dispute case, since Shellie Zimmerman has since recanted her story.
But this isn’t the first time he’s found himself in trouble with the law. Last year, he was charged in the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin; however, this summer, an all-female jury acquitted Zimmerman of all charges. So you’d think he’d go into hiding, right, as many people were none-too-pleased with the verdict?
Wrong.
In an attempt to perhaps redeem his image, Zimmerman reportedly rescued a person from an overturned truck. (Many side eyes followed.) But a week or so later, he was pulled over for speeding and admitted he had a handgun in the car. He was issued a verbal warning and allowed to drive away.
And, as though that weren’t enough, Zimmerman was then spotted browsing in a gun manufacturing company. He even posed for a picture with the owner’s son. While there, TMZ reports he asked questions about the “legality of buying a shotgun–specifically the Kel-Tec KSG.” Yes, seriously. Even his attorneys couldn’t co-sign for that move.

Recently, said legal team asked the state of Florida to pay up to $300,000 in legal fees and Shellie Zimmerman pleaded guilty to perjury. Then she filed for divorce and asked that Zimmerman pay for a permanent life insurance policy with her named as the beneficiary. That brings us up to speed today.
