The Black AIDS Institute (BAI), in partnership with a series of other HIV/AIDS advocacy organizations, will convene in Chicago for three key events on efforts to reduce the risk and effects of HIV in Black and urban communities.
In spite of tremendous scientific advances in diagnosis and treatment, African-Americans continue to lag in survival rates, diagnosis and treatment for HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Deborah Birx, who leads all U.S. Government International HIV/AIDS efforts, including overseeing the implementation of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), along with U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis are expected to attend as featured guests.
Local and national researchers, clinicians, and community activist will also present the latest information concerning the state of HIV/AIDS around the globe.
