This week has not been good for Delta Airlines.
According to flight tracker system FlightStats, Delta canceled 530 flights and delayed 1,500 flights on Tuesday. This immediately follows the company’s canceling of nearly 1,000 flights on Monday, CNN Money reports.
However, Delta’s Senior Vice president Dave Holtz is confident that things will get back to normal soon.
“We are still operating in recovery mode,” he said in a statement released Tuesday.
Thousands of passengers were left stranded at airports due to the outage that grounded all Delta flights for over six hours on Monday.
Delta is currently looking to redeploy all crews and aircraft to curb the impact of the outage. Airline experts predict that all schedules will be back to normal by Wednesday.
Fortunately enough for passengers, the airline is offering refunds for canceled or significantly delayed flights. Passengers whose flights are canceled or delayed will receive $200 travel vouchers for upcoming flights. In addition, Delta will also waive charge fees for any passenger originally booked for Monday or Tuesday.
Delta believes the technical difficulties stemmed from a power outage at its Atlanta station.
The airline is furthering investigating what exactly went wrong.
