Boko Haram Burns Kids Alive

A survivor who hid in a tree says he watched Boko Haram extremists burn children to death, ABC News reports.

The latest attack is one of many executed by Nigeria’s homegrown Islamic extremists group. Eighty-six people died during Saturday night’s attack at Dalori village and two nearby camps that housed 25,000 refugees.

The terrorists shot, burned and bombed the villages for nearly four hours in the unprotected area housed just 3 miles from Maiduguri.

Scores of charred corpses and bodies with bullet wounds littered the streets.

Three female suicide bombers blew up among people who managed to flee to neighboring Gamori village, killing many, according to survivors of the attacks.

Survivors told journalists it had taken too long for help to arrive from nearby Maiduguri, where the military headquarters is stationed. They said they fear another attack.

In addition to the eighty-six casualties, another sixty-two people are being treated for burns.

Last year, Nigeria’s military drove Boko Haram out of towns and villages in northeastern Nigeria. Since then, the group has been attacking soft targets, increasingly with suicide bombers.

Over the course of six years, the group has killed roughly 20,000 people and driven 2.5 million from their homes.
