Apple has released iOS 8.3, the company’s latest software update. It has some impressive new features, but the real talk has revolved around the new black emojis.
iPhone users now have the option of choosing emoji characters with over 300 different skin tones. Before, the emoji keyboard lacked diversity hardcore. It’s a nice gesture coming from Apple, but you must admit that it’s is something that should have been in the works a long time ago.
To access the updated emoji keyboard, select and hold down on an emoji character and click the color option to your liking.
But here’s the catch. When scrolling over to the family emoji, it lacks a black family emoji option. This is upsetting.
People took to Twitter to weigh in on the issue.
why no black family emojis ? @apple wtf

So. Family emojis are just yellow now? Black people couldn’t get families?

Maybe the iOS 8.4 update will satisfy us? Until next time…
