A young woman asked Mitt Romney and President Obama a question, during the last debate, about inequality between men and women in the work place. Viewers were satisfied with Obama’s response but Romney had this to say:
“So we took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to be members of our cabinet . I went to a number of women’s groups and said could you help us find some folks and they brought us whole binders full of women.”
The Governor’s awkward wording lead to one of the most talked about quotes of the Presidential debate thus far–following PBS and Big Bird, of course. Viewers who were either enraged or amused by his comment about “binders full of women,” took to the web with jokes and commentary, turning the phrase into a trending topic. The phrase even has its own Facebook page with 312, 105 likes at press time.
