Severe storms that moved through Southeast Texas late Monday claimed the lives of 2 residents.
The high water and flooding made many of Houston’s roads impassable, prompting officials to urge residents to stay indoors, according to USA Today.
One of the victims was found in a car in the southwest side of the city, while another was pulled from Brays Bayou in southeast Houston. This is some of the worst flooding in years to hit the city, placing its freeway system and much of the city underwater.
Interstate 10 is virtually impassable.
A flash flood watch is in effect for Houston until noon Central. Tuesday’s forecast calls for more rain.
