The Internet hacker group known as Anonymous has taken over the Ku Klux Klan’s Twitter account.
Over the weekend, Anonymous took control of the account saying: “Under anon control as of 16 NOV 2014 09:11:47. You should’ve expected us.”
The action came after KKK member Frank Ancona defended the group’s act of passing out fliers in Ferguson, Missouri and threatened the use of “lethal force” to defend themselves against protestors, which he referred to as “terrorists.”
In August, Anonymous revealed the name of the police officer they said was responsible for killing 18-year-old Michael Brown; however, that name turned out to be incorrect.
Anonymous is expected to make a statement about its most recent takeover sometime soon:
That is all we will say for now. The rest will be clarified in tomorrow’s statement. #OpKKK
