An emergency meeting has been called in Philadelphia to deal with some serious and troubling allegations against area police. A group of four White officers have been accused of roughing a 16-year-old honor student up so badly that it caused injury to his genitalia.
According to a local Fox affiliate, Darrin Manning is still having trouble walking and faces a lifetime of health issues due to an incident in which he and other boys were stopped and frisked on the way to a basketball game. Why the youths were stopped remains unclear, but Manning told the station the following about the encounter:
“She patted me down again, and then I felt her reach, and she grabbed my butt. And then she grabbed and squeezed again and pulled down. And that’s when I heard something pop, like I felt it pop,” Manning, who is facing resisting arrest and aggravated assault charges, revealed.
Police are claiming Manning never mentioned any injuries during his detainment, though there are rumblings an internal investigation could be in the works.
