At least seven people were injured when a shooting occurred at a video release party at a South Side Chicago nightclub, according to CBS Chicago.
Police report that three people pulled out handguns and began firing shots inside and outside of Mr. G’s Supper Club and Entertainment Center. They believe the shooting was gang-related. The exact number of those injured was difficult to determine because most of the wounded victims were driven to hospitals by people they knew instead of by ambulance. The seven recorded injuries were all minor.
The club’s owner, Gene Linton, later issued a statement asserting that “never has any incident of this magnitude occurred at the establishment…We ask that the general public join us in praying for the victims of this cowardly act. We also have pledged out full and complete cooperation with the Chicago Police Department in its investigation…”
Police do not have a description of the suspects and no one is currently in custody.
Note to all of our Chicago brothers and sisters: PLEASE, STOP SHOOTING EACH OTHER.
