With songs like “Work,” “Shabba,” and “New Level” at the top of his catalog, there’s no question that ASAP Ferg is more than capable of making audiences turn up. The latest offering from Fergenstein, however, is atypical of the Harlem rapper’s famed mosh-pit inducing singles.

Gearing up for the release of his upcoming LP, Still Striving, Ferg recently unleashed four tracks in just over the course of one day. And while we’re still bumping “Nia Long,” “Furious Ferg,” “Plain Jane, ” and “Aw Yea” featuring Lil Yachty, the Hood Pope is letting his foot off the gas. Ferg’s latest track, “Tango,” gets personal quick, and features a hook from Kanobby that puts us on to why the ASAP Mob member still feels the urgency to record new music.

Produced by Frankie P, “Tango” celebrates some of Ferg’s success with bars like “Now it’s gold grills, glisten every time the teeth in / And all my idols listen every time I’m speakin’. More than that the track serves as a therapeutic exercise where the Trap Lord gets introspective about with rhymes about the passing of his father and ASAP Yams, along with everything he’s endured on the road to riches and diamond rings.

As for the road ahead, Ferg revealed that he’s targeting an August release date for Still Striving during a Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe. Guest features include A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, French Montana and Meek Mill.

Take a walk on ASAP Ferg’s introspective side and stream “Tango” after the jump.
