The world renowned DJ A-Trak is back and has recruited two chart-toppers to join him on his latest wave, “Believe.” Following recent tracks “Peek a Boo” and “Night Call”, the upbeat tune finds Lil Yachty and Quavo trading bars over the animated production.
“Look at the rocks, ice in my watch,” raps 1/3 of Migos. “When I’m on the block, I run from the cops / Damn, did I forget to mention / All these racks on me playing tennis / Write my name in the World Guinness / Take ’em back to the beginning.”
Yachty then comes through with a pretty explicit chorus. “Every b*tch in the world posts us in their room/ But I f*ck with lil‘ shorty ‘cause she vacuum / Suck me in the living room.“ Later, he pays tribute to his friends behind bars while also dropping a George W. Bush reference. “This for my n*ggas locked up behind bars / This for my n*ggas who need an extra push / They hated me like Bush/ But I’ma still rise / And I put that on my guys / R.I.P. to all my soldiers in the sky”
During an interview with Beats 1, A-Trak phoned in to share his thoughts on the track: “[We] recorded the song hanging out,” he said. “I wanted that to come through in the vibe of the song, that this is a hangout thing, having fun. Even the way that they’re trading lines back and forth. To me, it reminds me of the way that Jadakiss and Styles P used to do it. People don’t do that enough anymore, just trading bars.”
