Anytime is a good time to start loving yourself and to build or strengthen who you are in a healthy way! Below are a few ways to create a stronger, healthier sense of self while feeling great about who you are and what you do.
1) Stay in bed for five minutes. This doesn’t mean sleep for an additional five minutes – sorry. Set your alarm to wake up five to seven minutes before you need to physically get up. When you hear the alarm, open your eyes and stare at the ceiling. Breathe deeply and calmly, as this will help you begin your day smoothly. As you’re breathing, acknowledge what you are grateful for: your family, home, job, etc. I promise your day will begin a lot smoother.
2) Look in the mirror and find one thing you like about you everyday. As you are getting ready to begin your day, look in the mirror and see past your personality. Look deep into your eyes and see your soul. What do you like about yourself in that moment? This will help you see past the physical and open the doorway for yourself and others to see your real beauty and gifts.
3) Eat and drink all day long. Yes, every nutritionist will tell you the same thing, too. Eating lightly throughout the day (fruits, veggies, etc.) and drinking water is great for your weight, health, and skin! When you prioritize your health, you feel better about yourself. And, when you see the results – WOWZA – watch out world!
4) Compliment at least one person a day. You’ll be surprised at how much better you feel when you give a compliment to another person. When we have a positive affect on another, we feel better about ourselves because we realize how much we matter. This helps us take better care of each other and ourselves.
