Oscar de la Renta had a vision for fashion that tapped into the fabulous state of women. Marrying high society to haute couture, his designs were made to highlight the glamour girl in us all.
When his passing hit the social spectrum, it struck a chord with many who adored his styling and those who had the privilege of dawning one of his ready-to-wear gowns, signature pieces and/or that prominent piece for a red-carpet appearance.
The iconic designer died from cancer on October 20 in his home surrounded by family, friends and more than a few dogs as stated on his website.
He had an amazing journey and as we reflect on his contributions to the fashion industry and many runways, we highlighted five Oscar de la Renta trendsetting looks donned by Black beauties from runway to red-carpet.
