My favorite season of the year is upon us! With April comes the welcome of springtime: garden weddings, tea-length dresses and one of my favorite color combinations – pink and green. This week, I share ideas on how to execute this spring palette for your big day.
The Garden Wedding
Here are some of my favorite ways to execute this color palette and pull off this classic wedding focus:
Keep the shades to pastels. Outdoors is the ideal location. Focus your venue search on country clubs or golf clubs with tents or even your local arboretum. Make sure the outdoor venue has options for a plan B in case it rains and all “outdoor venue” precautions are in place, of course.
Keep the shades to pastels. Mint green, cool shades of blue or lavender work well with this palette. The color combination will blend nicely with the greenery in the garden.
Your fabric choices should be light and billowy. Consider airy cottons and chiffon for this focus. Some heavy satins and taffeta may be stiff for this soft look.
Don’t forget the dishes. If you can find traditional china for the reception dinner with floral accents in the pattern– go for it! Floral designs in your china is a great way to bring the outdoors inside.
