Even though we are not seeing signs for spring yet, planning for spring weddings is already underway. Pantone has some extraordinary picks for the coming season and this week I am sharing tips for pairing three of their current hues with one of my favorite base colors: gold. Gold comes in many shades–from a soft shimmery version to a deep and rich, bold color. The great things about the color palettes here is that mostly all shades of gold and work with either hue.

Dazzling Blue & Gold: If the winter’s extreme weather has you feeling blue, this color will dazzle you and your guest in the spring. Dazzling Blue pairs greatly with gold tones and can shift easily for a regal look or exotic color palette. Add a little mystique by infusing complex patterns such as geometric designs into your accents. Amber lighting will intensify the gold accents in the room for a beautiful backdrop. Don’t be afraid to use this deep hue as a main color and not just your “something blue.”

Cayenne & Gold: Pantone describes Cayenne as “a high-pitched red that can add a dash of spicy heat to neutrals and heightens excitement.” Combining this romantic pastel with any gold tone will work no matter the setting of your wedding.  For a destination or beach wedding, add shades of beige and maybe a hint of blue along with your gold accents. If you choose the traditional route, consider adding an ivory with your gold and Cayenne. For the popular rustic look, add some burlap accents and maybe some wooden details.  You would’ve successfully blended three great trends – rustic chic, Cayenne, and gold.

Sand & Gold: You can’t go wrong with this classic monochromatic look! This stunning neutral combined with golden tones is such an easy color palette with tons of options for flowers, embellishments and accessories. Try contemporary accents with chevron prints in sand and gold for a modern and clean decor. Just like Cayenne, the Sand color works well in rustic themes, too. The hearty burlap against the shiny gold and neutral sand will make a winning combination in many venues – whether your ceremony is in a chapel or outdoors.
