- Mrs. Payne is a retired homemaker. Mr. Payne is a retired steel worker from Republic Steel. The couple has 10 children, 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and just welcomed their first great-great-grandchild last month. It is no wonder that their dedication to working together for the good of their entire family has helped them to cultivate an endless love.
