Praised milliner Philip Treacy—famous for his eccentric, haute couture hat designs—made his return to London Fashion Week (after a 13 year absence) last week with an all out Michael Jackson-themed spectacle. Not only did he dress the models in authentic Jackson garb, he chose an all-Black cast to showcase the dramatic hat wear.
“The show was a homage to the African woman and their sensibility to dress up,” he told The London Evening Standard.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson’s costumes featured in the show will be auctioned off in December.
