After experiencing success with her Black Girls Rock! franchise, this past weekend founder and executive director Beverly Bond launched Rock! Like A Girl, a concert series showcasing prominent and up and coming women within the music industry.
Taking over The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., legendary emcee MC Lyte kicked of the ignagural event as the night’s host. Throughout the event, guests were treated to performances from Jean Grae, French Chilean MC Ana Tijoux, violinist Miri Ben-Air and Grammy award-winning MC, singer, and songwriter Lauryn Hill.
