It was a joyous and artistic celebration earlier this week as The Harlem School of Arts celebrated their Fall Benefit at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Appel Room in New York City.
Designed as an interactive thank-you to the school’s many donors and supporters, this annual event featured a variety of musical, dance and theater performances which also highlighted the Harlem School of the Arts Advanced Jazz Combo in addition to Maria Ahn on cello, Lucia Ahn on piano and an excerpt from the theatre department’s Soul Nativity.
Hosted by David Ushery of WNBC’s The Debrief, the honorees included GE Asset Management who received the Corporate Award; Christopher M. Keogh received the Leadership Award; and Hearst Foundations were honored with the Philanthropy award.
Boris Kodjoe and wife Nicole Ari Parker were amongst the attendees.
