According to Sony, Willow Smith is no longer being considered for the lead role in the modern-day remake of Annie. The film, which is being produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, went into development when Willow was 9. Sony announced that the “Whip My Hair” singer, who is now 12, has outgrown the role.
Rumor has it that 9-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis and The Hunger Games‘ Amandla Stenberg are both being considered for the role.
