Winter is coming which means Cersei might FINALLY meet her maker on Game of Thrones.
The highly anticipated seventh season of Game of Thrones is just over two months away, and we can already sense that there will be a ton of bloodshed in Westeros. With Jon Snow and Sansa Stark garnering an army and Daenerys Targaryen and her unsullied closing in, it’s about to go down. To make matters worse, the evil Cersei Lannister is sitting on the Iron Throne in King’s Landing. With her younger brother Tyrion on Danys’ side, the only family Cersei has left is her twin brother and lover, Jamie.
Jamie or Kingslayer as he’s also called has been more and more wary of his sister’s diabolical schemes as the seasons of GoT have gone on. Back in the day, Jamie murdered the Mad King, Aerys Targaryen after he lit a ton of people on fire. Last season, Jamie watched his sister do the exact same thing. As a result, Game of Thrones fanatics are betting that it will be Jamie who finally takes his sister out for good.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who plays Jamie on GoT isn’t exactly quieting the rumors. He told Mashable, “I mean I don’t think he — I’m just saying it’s a valid theory. I can see it makes sense, it has a beautiful — it’s a nice circle [that] they are born together in the womb, and then he kills her at the end…It makes sense.”
Since the series has officially bypassed George R.R. Martin’s novels, anything is possible. With Cersei moving rapidly into the realm of madness, the Kingslayer taking out the insane Queen would be poetic AF.
Game of Thrones returns Sunday, July 16th on HBO. It’ll be lit for sure!
