Thanksgiving isn’t quite here yet, but Netflix is already treating us to new She’s Gotta Have It pics.
Spike Lee has reimagined his 1986 film for a 21st century TV audience starring DeWanda Wise as Nola Darling. He is directing and executive producing the series along with his producer-wife Tonya Lewis Lee. In the 10-episode adaptation, we’ll watch Nola, a young woman in her late twenties struggling to define herself while juggling her friends, her job and her three lovers in contemporary Brooklyn.
On the series, Greer Childs is played by Cleo Anthony, Jamie Overstreet is played by Lyriq Bent and Mars Blackmon is played by Hamilton’s Anthony Ramos.
A teaser trailer for the series was released several weeks ago, but it revealed very little about the series itself. New photos give us a better glimpse of what we can expect.
This isn’t the only She’s Gotta Have It news coming down the pipeline. Lee along with cinematographer/director Ernest Dickerson will be releasing a 4K restoration of She’s Gotta Have It. We will probably see the re-release happen to coincide with the debut of the Netflix series.
She’s Gotta Have It debuts Nov. 23 on Netflix.
