The Tony-award winning Broadway play The Trip to Bountiful is coming to a TV screen near you.
Picked up by Lifetime, the film adaption is currently in production in Atlanta. Almost all of the original cast members are reuniting for the movie, including Cicely Tyson and Vanessa L. Williams, according to Huffington Post. The story centers around an elderly woman who wishes to return to her childhood home in Texas.
Tyson won a Tony for her role as Carrie Watts, and Williams played the daughter-in-law.
Blair Underwood will star as Tyson’s son, replacing Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Keke Palmer from CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story will also be joining the cast.
