People can’t seem to get enough of the beloved Cicely Tyson. The Broadway smash, The Trip to Bountiful, gets yet another extension.
Now through Oct. 9, fans get to see the Tony Award winning actress portray Carrie Watts, an elderly woman who is forced to live with her overprotective son and domineering daughter-in-law but dreams of returning to her small hometown of Bountiful, TX.
Returning to the theater after 30 years, the 79-year-old shares the stage with Cuba Gooding Jr., Vanessa Williams and Condola Rashad, and Tyson has been receiving rave reviews for her work.
The Associated Press called Tyson’s performance “sublime, feisty, funny and glowing with inner light” and Time Out New York deemed it “soul stirring and flawless.” We hailed our cover girl a legend.
Don’t miss your chance to witness this historical show.
