Most eighth-graders are excited about the day they’ll finally be a high school student. These students, however, are excited about becoming national rock stars!
A group of pre-teen boys who recorded a remarkable heavy metal rendition of “Jingle Bells” took the country by storm last Christmas season.
Those same boys, now teens, are again making headlines as they’ve signed a $1.7 million deal for two albums with a leading music company.
Guitarist Malcolm Brickhouse, 13, bassist Alec Atkins, 13 and drummer Jarad Dawkins, 12 all comprise Unlocking the Truth, a metal band from Brooklyn.
The record deal guarantees the trio two albums with a “$60,000 advance on their first recording,” according to the New York Daily News.
The boys have performed all around the country and already have both a book and a documentary in the works.
