The 2015 Emmy nominations were announced Thursday morning, and with Taraji P. Henson and Viola Davis in the running, the competition is looking pretty steep.
Both ladies have been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for their roles in Empire and How to Get Away with Murder respectively, but they aren’t the only ones celebrating.
Uzo Aduba, who won her first Emmy last year, was nominated again for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Suzanna “Crazy Eyes” Warren in Orange is the New Black.
The fellows were not left out of the conversation. Anthony Anderson of black-ish, Michael Key of and Key & Peele and David Oyelowo of Nightingale could take home trophies, too. They’ve all been nominated for Outstanding Actor or Outstanding Supporting Actor in their perspective categories.
Other favorites up for awards include Queen Latifah, who played Bessie Smith in the HBO original movie Bessie, Khandi Alexander, who took on the role of “Mama Pope” in Scandal and Cicely Tyson, who portrayed the mother of Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder.
