Spike Lee’s new film, ‘Chi-Raq‘ premiered in Chicago before its theatrical release nationwide. The film, which is based on the alarming murder rate in Chicago, and the self-proclaimed name by the city’s youth, offers an alternative view towards ending the violence.
Lee and his cast took to the red carpet before the premiere to discuss the film and explain why the film is a must-see and how to take a positive approach to putting an end to Chicago’s violence. Among those in attendance were writer/director/producer Spike Lee, Father Michael Pfleger, Nick Cannon, Steve Harris, Jennifer Hudson, and Teyonah Parris.
