56-year-old comedian David Adkins (aka Sinbad) has filed for bankruptcy, according to TMZ. The former A Different World star stated that his is approximately $11 million in debt, $8 million of which is money owed in back taxes.
In March, Sinbad told Oprah that his current financial troubles were a result of bad investments. “I didn’t buy Bentleys. I didn’t live large. I invested in me. I invested in a lot of other people. I would not change it; I would not go back,” he said. “It’s never over. There’s no one defining moment that kills you or makes you.”
Unfortunately, this is not Adkins’ first encounter with money problems. In 2009, he filed for bankruptcy, before appearing on Celebrity Apprentice, but his case was dismissed.
