Selita Ebanks will no longer walk the runway for Victoria’s Secret.
Ebanks told New York Magazine’s The Cut that all models have to audition for Victoria’s Secret annual fashion show, even the famous “angels.”
“You have to show up in your panties, and you have to walk and be pleasant and say hi to everyone and hope that you’ve still got it,” said the retiree about the audition process.
Victoria’s Secret didn’t see “it” in Ebanks this time around because she announced to The Cut two nights ago, at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball, that she didn’t make it. The seasoned model didn’t seem disappointed with the decision as she jovially added, “Go figure!” after her announcement.
There is always the hope of next year but Selita Ebanks has declined the prospect.
“I’ve done, what, five, six shows? I’ve experienced my V.S. days,” she said.
Necole Bitchie reports, Selita Ebanks has made over $8 million modeling for Victoria’s Secret catalogs and gracing the runway as one of the company’s angels for the past 5-6 years.
